Location of bus stops at Abrenes Street terminal to change on July 1
On July 1 the location of bus stops at the bus terminal in Abrenes Street will be changed in order to improve the regularity of public transport traffic and its safety.
Every day the bus terminal in Abrenes Street serves more than a half of all bus routes managed by "Rīgas satiksme". It is a point of departure and arrival for 30 bus routes which deliver passengers to near and remote districts of Riga, including Vecmīlgrāvis, Jaunciems, Zolitūde, Dārziņi, Mežaparks, "Riga airport", Mārupe, Piņķi, as well as many other destinations in and around the city.
To improve the operation of the above routes, location of bus stops will be changed as of July 1. "Rīgas satiksme" reminds that those passengers using the terminal on the daily basis should get familiar with the above changes in order to avoid misunderstanding and be able to reach necessary destinations on time. On July 1 the number of bus stops will be increased from four to five, which will significantly improve the traffic of buses at the terminal.
The opinions and proposals of public transport drivers and traffic planning and support experts were taken into account when making the changes.
